Highlight

You can show a lot in a video, but sometimes you want to focus on the smaller details. That is why you can highlight what’s important and hide the rest.

The Highlight interaction allows you to focus on one part of the video by decreasing the visibility of the non-relevant area. The opposite of a hotspot, but it has the same purpose of drawing the viewers’ attention to a specific part of the video. However, it works the other way around compared to the Hotspot. Where a Hotspot adds a color to the relevant area, a Highlight dims the non-relevant area. You can alter the color and transparency of this non-highlighted area, to make it more or less obvious, and you can add a border and round the edges.

Finally, also the Highlight interaction can be enriched with a jump or hyperlink, that will take the viewer to where the link or jump leads when they click on the interaction.
